Thirteen migrants, including seven Nigerians, have been deported from Libya for breaching the country’s laws.
The deportation, overseen by Libya’s Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM), took place at the Qanfoudah Immigration Detention Center in Benghazi.
According to a post on X by Migrant Rescue Watch on Tuesday, the deported individuals included seven Nigerians, three Bangladeshis, and three Ghanaians.
The individuals were escorted out of Libya via Benina International Airport in Benghazi amid increasing efforts by Libyan authorities to manage illegal migration within their borders.
The DCIM has ramped up deportation activities in partnership with international bodies such as Frontex to address the growing migrant crisis.
